Terms & Conditions β Ouma Bets Gebak
Effective Date: 24 December 2025
Welcome to Ouma Bets Gebak. These Terms & Conditions govern the use of our website and the purchase of any products from Ouma Bets Gebak.
By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions as well as our Shipping Policy, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not place an order.
1. About Ouma Bets Gebak
Ouma Bets Gebak is a bakery business operating in South Africa, preparing freshly baked goods which are either collected from our premises or delivered through third-party courier services.
By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age or have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR). VAT is included in the price of products where applicable.
2. Orders & Acceptance
Once an order is placed it is considered final.
Ouma Bets Gebak reserves the right to:
β’ Accept or decline any order at our discretion
β’ Limit quantities ordered
β’ Cancel orders due to stock limitations, operational capacity, suspected fraud or unforeseen circumstances
Order confirmation emails confirm that we have received your order. They do not guarantee delivery timelines or product availability.
3. Shipping & Delivery
Courier Service
Orders are delivered door to door using third-party courier services, primarily The Courier Guy.
Once an order has been handed over to the courier:
β’ Ouma Bets Gebak has no control over courier operations
β’ Delivery timelines are estimates only
β’ Delays caused by the courier are outside of our control
Ouma Bets Gebak cannot be held responsible for:
β’ Courier delays
β’ Route changes
β’ Operational disruptions
β’ Weather conditions
β’ Service interruptions by courier companies
Delivery Addresses
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete delivery information at checkout.
Ouma Bets Gebak is not responsible for:
β’ Incorrect delivery addresses
β’ Incomplete delivery details
β’ Incorrect contact numbers
β’ Delivery delays caused by incorrect information
If a parcel needs to be redirected or resent due to incorrect information, all additional courier charges will be for the customer's account.
Courier Risk
Once an order leaves our bakery and is handed to the courier, the handling, transport conditions and delivery environment fall outside of our control.
While we package products carefully, Ouma Bets Gebak cannot guarantee that delicate baked goods will arrive in perfect visual condition due to the nature of courier transport.
4. Local Collection (Pick-Up Orders)
Customers selecting the local collection option must choose a collection date during checkout.
Orders are baked fresh specifically for the selected collection date.
By placing a collection order the customer agrees that:
β’ Orders must be collected on the selected date
β’ Collection must take place during the communicated collection hours
If an order is not collected on the selected date, Ouma Bets Gebak cannot guarantee freshness or product quality beyond that date.
Due to the perishable nature of our products:
Orders not collected within 48 hours of the selected collection date may be discarded at our discretion.
If this occurs:
β’ The order will be considered forfeited
β’ No refund, replacement or store credit will be issued
Customers who anticipate delays must contact us before the collection date to request an alternative arrangement. Approval remains at the sole discretion of Ouma Bets Gebak.
Once products leave our premises they cannot be returned for food safety reasons.
5. Product Shelf Life & Storage
Our baked goods are freshly prepared and contain perishable ingredients.
Customers are responsible for ensuring proper storage after receiving their order.
Most products have a shelf life of approximately 2 to 3 weeks depending on ingredients.
Products containing cream cheese or similar fillings may have a shorter shelf life.
Ouma Bets Gebak is not responsible for product quality issues resulting from:
β’ Incorrect storage
β’ Delayed collection
β’ Extended storage beyond recommended timeframes
6. Refund Policy
Due to the perishable nature of our products, all sales are final.
Ouma Bets Gebak does not offer refunds or exchanges for:
β’ Change of mind
β’ Incorrect orders placed by the customer
β’ Failure to read product descriptions or policies
β’ Courier delays
β’ Courier damage
β’ Missed deliveries
β’ Incorrect delivery information
β’ Personal taste preferences
7. Incorrect or Missing Orders
If you believe there is an issue with your order, you must contact us within 24 hours of delivery.
To investigate the issue, the following information must be provided:
β’ Clear photos of the product
β’ Photos of internal packaging
β’ Photos of external packaging
β’ Photos of the packing slip
β’ Photos of the courier waybill sticker
β’ Order number and order date
β’ Best Before Date visible on packaging
All information must be emailed to:
Incomplete submissions cannot be reviewed.
Investigations may be conducted, however submission of a claim does not guarantee a refund, replacement or credit.
8. Products Damaged During Transit
While we package our products with care, Ouma Bets Gebak cannot be held responsible for damage that occurs during courier transport.
Courier handling is outside of our control.
Information provided regarding damage may be used internally or for courier reporting purposes but does not guarantee compensation.
9. Order Cancellations
Orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed.
Cancellation requests may only be considered if:
β’ The request is made immediately after placing the order
β’ Payment has cleared
β’ The order has not yet been prepared or packed
Approval of a cancellation request remains at the sole discretion of Ouma Bets Gebak and does not guarantee a refund.

Customer information collected through our website may include:

β’ Delivery addresses
β’ Payment information
β’ Order history
β’ Marketing preferences
This information is stored and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By placing an order you consent to this use of your information within Ouma Bets Gebak.

All content on this website including text, images, branding, product descriptions, graphics and logos are the intellectual property of Ouma Bets Gebak.
Content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or used without written permission.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ouma Bets Gebak shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages including but not limited to:
β’ Loss of profits
β’ Business interruption
β’ Data loss
β’ Courier-related delays
β’ Courier delivery failures
13. Consumer Protection Act
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes any rights a consumer may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (South Africa).
Where applicable, statutory consumer rights remain in effect.
14. Food Safety Compliance
Ouma Bets Gebak operates in compliance with South African food safety regulations.
Our bakery holds a valid Certificate of Acceptability (COA) issued by the relevant local authority confirming that our premises meet the required hygiene and operational standards.
All products are prepared in a controlled food-safe environment using approved food handling practices.
Once products leave our premises and are handed to third-party couriers, the handling and storage conditions fall outside of our control.
By placing an order the customer acknowledges the risks associated with the courier transport of perishable baked goods.
15. Changes to These Terms
Ouma Bets Gebak reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.
The version published on the website at the time of placing an order will apply to that order.
16. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any disputes will be handled in accordance with South African law.
