Shipping Policy

At Ouma Bets Gebak, we take care to ensure your freshly baked goods are delivered in the best possible condition. Below are the details of our shipping policy:

Processing and Shipping Times

  • Please allow 2-4 business days for order processing.
  • Once processed, orders are typically delivered within 3-5 business days via our courier services.
  • We ship Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only. Orders placed after 10:00am on a Wednesday will be processed and shipped the following Monday. This is to prevent our cookies from sitting in a courier warehouse over the weekend. (Please note this is only relevant for Chunky Cookie Orders)
  • Although we try our best to not let the cookies stay at the couriers over the weekends, we cannot prevent this from happening. If it does happen, your cookies will still be perfectly fine upon arrival. 
  • WE OFFER FREE SHIPPING FOR ORDERS OVER R800 - All orders over R800 will qualify for free standard shipping (3-5 days), and will not be eligible for overnight shipping.

Fondant Sugar Cookies

Note that our Fondant Sugar Cookies has a different lead time. Please pay attention to the following:

  1. Lead Time: Our Fondant Sugar Cookies require a preparation time of 2-3 business days. Please plan accordingly when placing your order.

  2. Shipping Time: Once your cookies are ready, they will be shipped, and will be delivered within 3-5 business days, just like the rest of our products. All FONDANT SUGAR COOKIE orders are shipped Monday through Friday.

  3. Estimated Delivery Date: You can select an estimated delivery date before adding them to your cart. However, please be aware that while we strive for timely delivery, we cannot guarantee precise arrival times. Thus, please choose an estimate delivery time only.

  4. Event Timing: If your event falls on a Saturday, we highly recommend placing your order for delivery by the Wednesday before your event. This ensures that your cookies arrive well in advance of your special day.

  5. Urgent Orders: If you need your cookies urgently and the available dates do not meet your needs, please reach out to us directly. We will do our best to accommodate your request.

Delivery Services We offer three delivery options for your convenience:

  1. PUDO Locker Delivery – R95
    Your package will be delivered to the PUDO locker you specify. If no locker is indicated, we will select the closest one to your area.

  2. Standard Door Delivery – R125
    Your package will be delivered directly to your doorstep, based on the address provided at checkout in 3 - 5 days. Please ensure the address is accurate, as we cannot be held responsible for incorrect addresses.

  3. Overnight Delivery - R180
    Your package will arrive in 1 - 2 business days. Please ensure the address is accurate, as we cannot be held responsible for incorrect addresses.

Priority Shipping Policy

We offer Priority Shipping for customers who need their orders delivered more urgently. Below are the details for our available shipping options:

Overnight Shipping:

  • Delivery Time: Our standard Overnight Shipping typically takes 1-2 business days depending on your location for R180. This option is available at checkout.

  • Delivery Times: Please note that while we aim to deliver your order overnight, delivery may take up to 2 business days, depending on the distance and courier schedules.

Urgent Deliveries (Same Day, Weekend, or Public Holiday Delivery):

  • If you require Same-Day Express delivery, or if you need your order delivered on a weekend or public holiday, please contact us directly.

  • We are happy to assist with urgent requests, but please be aware that these services will incur additional costs. The exact cost will be determined based on the specific requirements and timing.

Important Information

  • If your package cannot be delivered due to incorrect address information or your unavailability, and it is returned to us, you will be responsible for paying the courier fees again, plus an additional R100 admin fee.
  • We are not liable for missed or late deliveries due to delays beyond our control, such as courier delays.

By placing an order with us, you acknowledge the following:

  1. Damage During Transit: We are not responsible for any damage that occurs to your package once it is in the possession of the courier. We encourage you to inspect your package upon delivery and report any damage directly to the courier.

  2. Please provide us with the PUDO Locker address when choosing PUDO Locker Delivery at checkout. If you enter your home address in this case, the nearest PUDO Locker will be selected for you. We will not be held liable for incorrect Locker delivery if no details were indicated.

  3. Incorrect Information: We are not held liable for any delays in package delivery resulting from incorrect information provided by the customer at the time of order. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all details are accurate.

  4. Unavailability at Delivery: If you are unavailable to receive your package at the time of delivery, we cannot be held liable for any resulting delays. Please make arrangements to ensure someone is available to accept the delivery.

  5. Courier Delivery Times: We do not control the delivery schedule of our courier services. Once you receive a notification (via email) indicating that your package has left our facility and is with the courier, please anticipate delivery within 3 to 5 business days.

 

Pick-Up Policy:

  • Pick-Up Time: Orders are typically ready for pick-up within 2-3 business days after confirmation. You will receive an email notification once your order is ready.

  • Pick-Up Hours: Our pick-up times are Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Please ensure you pick up your order during these hours, as we are not open for pick-up on weekends.

  • Order Confirmation: Pick-up is only available after you have received an email notification confirming that your order is ready for collection. Please wait for this confirmation before heading to our bakery. 

  • Location: Orders must be picked up at our bakery location. You will also receive a PIN LOCATION from us via WhatsApp for easy direction, as it is on a farm.

Royal Icing Cookies

  • Royal icing cookies require additional time to prepare. Please allow up to 2 weeks for processing (excluding transit and courier time).
  • Free shipping on orders over R800 does not apply to royal icing cookies. You will be charged for shipping when ordering these products.
  • While we strive to meet deadlines, we cannot be held responsible for missing specific due dates, though we will always do our best to deliver on time.
