Shipping Policy – Ouma Bets Gebak

At Ouma Bets Gebak, we take great care to ensure that your freshly baked goods are prepared, packaged, and shipped in the best possible condition.

Please read the following shipping information carefully before placing your order.


Processing & Shipping Schedule

All orders are freshly prepared and baked specifically for each customer. To ensure the highest quality, we operate on a structured shipping schedule.

Orders are shipped on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.

Orders placed before 10:00am on Monday will be shipped the same week (Tuesday or Wednesday).

Orders placed after 10:00am on Monday will be shipped the following week (Tuesday or Wednesday).

This schedule allows us sufficient time to roll, prepare, bake, and carefully package each order to ensure your cookies arrive in the best possible condition.

Once shipped, delivery typically takes 3–5 business days, depending on your location.


Courier Service

We make use of The Courier Guy for nationwide delivery.

Standard Door-to-Door Delivery

Your order will be delivered directly to the address provided during checkout.

Please ensure that your delivery details are accurate and complete, as Ouma Bets Gebak cannot be held responsible for delays or delivery failures caused by incorrect or incomplete address information.


Rural, High-Risk or Remote Areas

In certain areas, courier companies may apply additional surcharges for locations classified as:

• Rural areas
• High-risk areas
• Remote delivery zones

If the courier applies such a surcharge to your delivery address, Ouma Bets Gebak reserves the right to request payment of the additional courier fee before the parcel is dispatched.

If the surcharge is declined, the order may be cancelled or alternative delivery arrangements may need to be made.


Weekend, Public Holiday & Same-Day Deliveries

If you require same-day delivery, weekend delivery, or delivery on a public holiday, please contact us directly before placing your order.

We will do our best to assist with urgent requests. Please note that these services will incur additional courier charges, which will be quoted based on the urgency and delivery location.


Important Delivery Information

Delivery Delays

While we do everything possible to avoid parcels remaining with the courier over weekends, this cannot always be guaranteed.

If this occurs, your cookies will still remain safe and suitable for consumption upon arrival.

However, once a parcel has been handed over to the courier, delivery timelines are outside of our control.

Ouma Bets Gebak cannot be held responsible for delays caused by courier companies.


Failed Deliveries

If a delivery cannot be completed due to:

• Incorrect address details
• Customer unavailability
• Failure to respond to courier contact attempts

and the parcel is returned to us, the customer will be responsible for:

• Paying the courier fee again
• An additional R100 administration fee

In some cases, due to the perishable nature of our products, the order may unfortunately need to be discarded and may therefore be forfeited.


Courier Responsibility

Once your parcel has been handed over to the courier, responsibility for the parcel transfers to the courier company.

Ouma Bets Gebak cannot be held responsible for:

• Courier delays
• Routing issues
• Courier handling
• Courier delivery errors
• Damages during transit

We recommend inspecting your package upon delivery and reporting any damage directly to the courier.


Customer Responsibility

By placing an order with Ouma Bets Gebak, you acknowledge and agree that:

• All delivery information provided at checkout is accurate
• Someone will be available to receive the delivery
• Courier delivery timelines are estimates and not guaranteed
• Ouma Bets Gebak is not responsible for courier-related delays
